This expression is used to give directions and make requests. Use the Te-form of verbs (Vて) before ください. To make the request more polite, put すみませんが at the beginning of the sentence. When inviting somebody to do something which will benefit that person, the sentence is made more polite by putting どうぞ at the beginning.
